As the sun enters Taurus, the focus turns toward finances, finery, and enjoying the pleasure that our physical senses can bring us.
Taurus is an earth sign, so it has a stabilizing, grounded energy that can be incredibly powerful and comforting as well as stubborn or lazy.
Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus, so there is also an element of admiration. Admiring material beauty, wanting to be admired. Deriving self-worth from your impact on your physical environment.
The stability of Taurus also lends itself to financial stability--having enough of the world's goods to be able to sustain and maintain not only your life, but also your enjoyment of your own life.
In can take a lot of effort to get Taurus energy moving, so be watchful of any tendency to be complacent or needlessly "set in your ways" that may show up for you between now and when the sun moves into Gemini on May 20th.
While the sun is in Taurus, we're being invited to embrace our own pleasure. To find joy in the smell of baking bread. The sound of waves crashing. The smell of jasmine flowers. The taste of rich chocolate. The touch of a loving hand. (or whatever sensations bring you joy and pleasure)
We're also being asked to examine where we derive our worth from as we sojourn on this planet. Look at where you beautify the world. Look at where you seek validation and admiration from others. Look at who and what you admire and why.
Meditative Journaling to Support Healthy Taurus
If you need a refresher on how meditative journaling works, here it is! Otherwise, skip down to the next section.
Meditative journaling is an exercise for accessing the subconscious mind and receiving answers from your own deep, inner knowing.
My recommendation is that before you read any meditative journaling prompts, you take a few moments to focus on your breathing, closing your eyes if you’d like.
Then, when you're ready, read the first question and write down whatever comes to mind. No judgment, no editing as you go. Write down whatever comes to mind, regardless of whether it seems to make sense. Then repeat this process for all the questions. Write until you feel as though you have nothing left to write.
This exercise is a simple, yet effective way to access the power of your subconscious mind and use it for your own healing.
Through light and shadow,
