On March 7, 2023, we'll experience a Virgo Full Moon. Full moons involve the Sun and Moon being in opposition to each other (180 degrees away from each other from the perspective from earth as seen on an astrology chart), which tends to bring your Outer-Self and Inner-Self into opposition as well.
Opposition usually has a negative connotation, but in reality, opposition just means that there are opposites involved. Opposites can be good/bad pairs, but they can also exist in neutral/neutral, good/good, and bad/bad pairings. For example, male and female are opposites that are technically neutral/neutral. Hot and cold are also neutral/neutral--though many people certainly have a preference for one or the other! And--this is outside the scope of this blog post but is worth mentioning--even opposite pairs that seem to be good/bad, bad/bad, or good/good can exist as neutral/neutral pairings, because whether something is good or bad, helpful or harmful is usually largely dependent on how we choose to view, respond/react to, and use that thing.
During a full moon, this concept of opposites comes more fully into the collective awareness, because--by definition--the opposite pair of sun/moon is in an opposite pair of Signs (Virgo and Pisces, in this particular instance.)
With that on your mind, let's examine the specifics of this particular full moon:
Moon: emotions, inner-self, intuitive focus
in
Virgo: details, service, health and well-being, routines, practicality, being humane, rigidity, the Nurse or Physical Healer Archetype, efficiency, high standards, improvement
is experiencing a difference of perspective that can manifest as contention or collaboration
with
Sun: outer-self, external focus, ego
in
Pisces: spirituality, fantasy, imagination, intuition, openness, the Unseen, metaphysics, faith and doubt, agape (the love given by and received from the Divine), dissociation, merging, oneness
which presents each of us with an opportunity to practice balance and consideration of different perspectives.
Virgo views the world through a microscope, while Pisces views the world through a telescope. One focuses on details and the physical while the other is absorbed in the flow of the Universe and the immensity of the Unseen. One is more of a physical healer while the other is more of a spiritual healer.
Each of them--both Virgo and Pisces--is important. Each needs the other to prevent going off-balance, edging into either anxious, controlling frigidity or delusional psychosis. This full moon is an opportunity to explore the spectrum of perspective that Virgo and Pisces offer.
